Alexander Espinosa

Alex is an artist and technologist based in Los Angeles. Informed by Guattari's notion of the three ecologies - the psychic, social, and environmental - his practice seeks to produce novel information ecologies through generative systems. These generative systems weave together algorithmic patterns, neurotech, protocols, cryptography and collective interaction, to facilitate emergence and envision sympoietic futures. Alex received an undergraduate degree in Decentralized Systems from the Claremont Colleges and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computational Media Art at UCLA. His work has been exhibited internationally, including The State Hermitage Museum and documenta fifteen.

Computing is the medium of our time.

As planetary-scale computation
transforms the earth, the artist
must respond in systems, protocols,
and information.
